Greetings Everyone!
New Oil and Flower Maceration Update!
Lisbon and Ponderosa Lemon Peel Essential Oil
Ponderosa lemon peels |
This spring we partnered up again with Castle Hot Springs to do a co–distillation of Lisbon and Ponderosa Lemon peels. Lisbon lemon trees are cold hardy and produce juicy, thin skinned fruit, which are popular worldwide. Ponderosa Lemon, on the other hand, is an unusual hybrid that is not widely cultivated. It is thought that it came from a chance seedling grown by a Mr. George Bowman, of Hagerstown, Maryland in 1887. The fruits are very large with thick bumpy skins, and lots of juice. Genetic analysis has shown that it is a cross between Pomelo (Citrus maxima) and Citron (Citrus medica). These peels produced a more generous yield than we normally experience from lemon, and the oil is unusually long lasting for a citrus. The aroma is pure and sparkly and has an immediately uplifting effect on the mind and the emotions.

Flower Maceration Update
Cliffroses |
We have just finished this year’s batch of Cliffrose maceration! We were fortunate to be able to start collecting the fresh flowers immediately as their blooming cycle began, and have captured their uniquely sweet and complex aroma. For this week only we are offering a $5 discount on both the 2 ml and 5 ml sizes.
We will be starting on the Honeysuckle maceration very soon and are grateful that these two plants are not blooming at the same time this year!
We have a small amount of Desert Verbena back in stock! It was shyly hiding in the back of the wine cooler that holds all of our macerations and extracts, and we are very grateful for this rediscovery, as we are not yet seeing any bloom this year. We do have our eyes on an area that experienced a fire last year, which is usually where there will be a superbloom, so we shall see!
